Our Mission Teams provide access and resources to learn about space through educational lessons and hands-on activities. They are the keystone of our programs. Adult volunteers, known as Mission Team Leaders (MTL), facilitate meetings with easy-to-understand and fun-to-do educational material in space science, Earth science, engineering, and rocketry.

We are a national organization that operates within local communities. We depend on dedicated community volunteers across the nation to partner with us in our vision to bring Mission Teams to every community. We partner with community leaders, parents, teachers, forward-thinking individials, and corporate volunteers to provide missions teams across the nation. Mission Team Leaders do not have to have a background in space or engineering. Our lesson plans are written in an easy-to-understand format that guides volunteers through the program and allows them to learn alongside the students on their Mission Teams. 

 

Our flexible plan allows Mission Teams to adapt the educational program to their needs and local circumstances. While each mission team varies based on the community's needs, all mission teams should embody the Mission, Vision, and Guide Stars of FOGE.

 

Mission Teams meet based on community needs and members' schedules and vary from weekly afterschool programs at local schools to monthly evening clubs hosted by sponsoring organizations. The program is developed to meet from September to June, concluding with an End of the Year Award Ceremony.
